Simplicity OLW27

The OLW (One Layer Wednesday) 27 challenge on the Simplicity blog this week is to make a holiday card that meet the requirements of the North Dakota State Penitentiary-only one layer of cardstock, no metal, brads, glitter or gemstones. It is optional to send the cards for the prisoners to send to their families during the holidays. I found it kind of restricting to not be able to bling up my cards, but I did make two varieties.

The second challenge was to be inspired by the movie poster for Dirty Dancing, using light pink, dark pink, black and kraft.
Challenge 4 was to use sparkle or glitter. I used stickles for the snowflakes.

Amuse Pajama Party - Nov. 5

The first challenge was to design a card for a child.

Pajama Party Challenge 4

The last challenge was to be inspired by summer food or drink. What says summer anything more than ice cream?

Pajama Party, Challenge 3

The third challenge was to be inspired by "water." I decided to think outside the box and make a watermelon card, using A muse Saltbox Studios stamps. I also had a piece of watermelon as a refreshing break from card making!

Pajama Party, Challenge 2

The second challenge was to be inspired by the words "Beach Party." The mermaid girl is ready to party at the beach!

Pajama Party, Challenge 1

The Amuse Apalooza Pajama Party was last night with a summer theme. The first challenge was to be inspired by the word "hot." The beautiful colors of sunset are also hot colors, so I used a palm tree silhouette on a sunset background.

The One Layer Wednesday challenge on Susan's blog Simplicity is to use a stamp that looks like a faux embellishment. I like this A Muse stamp that looks like ribbon, and it always makes me think of a road.

Happy Birthday, A Muse!

The A Muse company is celebrating its 9th birthday, and I made this card for the challenge to "Let's Celebrate!" I haven't known about A Muse for that long, but I have been a fan for several years. They keep coming out with beautiful stamps and accessories, so I hope they will be around for many more years.

Pajama Party, Challenge 4

The challenge was to design a Mother's Day card.

Pajama Party, Challenge 3

For this challenge, we were to design a card with our favorite flower. Right now, all the fruit trees are in bloom, and I love the pink cherry blossoms. Last year I got to see the Cherry Blossoms in Washington, D.C., which were absolutely stunning. But I'm also happy to see the ones in my neighborhood.

Pajama Party, Challenge 2

This challenge was to use something three times on your card. I used the A Muse gerber daisy stamp in tropical colors.

Amuse Lounge Spring Pajama Party

The inspiration for this challenge was here, beautiful cupcakes with bees and ladybugs. This card was my interpretation. I wouldn't mind a cupcake too!

Virtual Stamp Weekend Part 3

This card uses a technique called Tea Bag Folding. I happened to have saved a bunch of matching envelopes from Darjeeling tea, which I put to good use.

Because it is important to keep your admission tickets in your pocket at the Olympics, we were asked to design a pocket card. This is actually the first pocket card I have ever made, but I have been admiring other people's creations for a while. I was glad to try it myself.

Virtual Stamp Weekend continued

The lavender card was for a challenge called Bundle Up; it is a trifold card with overlaps. The yellow card was for Sharpen Your Blades, and the card had to include scoring. That is the background design. The April in Paris card was for a challenge focusing on the musical elements of the Olympics.

The floral card has the center image covered in glitter for Interview with the Glitterati. The beach card was a water scene because of the Vancouver waterfront.

February Virtual Stamp Night

Splitcoast Stampers hosted a Virtual Stamp weekend with an Olympic theme. Here are some of my entries.
The black & white card with the zinnia used a rolling marble technique in honor of curling. The wedding card is my favorite of them all, and the challenge for that was to design a card that was primarily white. The maple leaf card was supposed to be inspired by a Hudson Bay Sweater. The other two cards in this set were based on the INUKSHUK, the symbol for the Vancouver Olympics. I made the "sole mates" card first and was unhappy with it, so then I made the tropical card. Stay tuned for more entries tomorrow.

Glenda's Random Amusing Challenge

Glenda's Random Amusing Challenge #52 was to make a clean and simple card combined with another challenge. I liked the colors of this weeks inspiration challenge for Echo.

A muse Lounge Pajama Party Challenge 4

The hostess of the last challenge of the evening loves the color red, so the challenge was to make a card using only red, black and white. This is actually one of my favorite color combinations as well, so I chose to make a birthday card.

This card also works for the January Challenge,*A Perfect Ten* - make a card using ten things. My ten:
3 colors - red, white, black
4 stamps -party hat, cupcake, tiny gift & happy birthday
2 sparkles - red twinkles and clear spica pen
1 tool -circle punch

Thanks for looking!

A muse Lounge Pajama Party Challenge 3

The third challenge was to make a one layer card. I tried out two of my new stamps, the A Muse solid and open zinnias.

A Muse Loung Pajama Party Challenge 2

The second challenge was to make a card for a friend. I used images from the Sushi set.

A muse Lounge Pajama Party Challenge 1

Last night was the January edition of the A Muse Lounge PJ party. The first challenge was to design a card based on your celebrity crush. Two of my early crushes were David McCallum from the Man from U.N.C.L.E., and Paul McCartney, but I couldn't think of a way to use any of the stamps I have to do either of them. But my all time movie hero is Cary Grant, so I designed this card in his honor. Two of his movies, To Catch a Thief and An Affair to Remember, are set in France, and the guy in the A Muse Kissing Couple has a shirt that always reminds me of a French sailor's shirt. And what Cary Grant movie isn't romantic?
