Queen of Hearts Challenge 2014

Quietfire Designs sponsors the Queen of Hearts challenge each year to make some love themed artwork at Valentine's Day. I love the beautiful calligraphy of Quietfire's Suzanne Cannon, and I used her stamp with a quote from Elizabeth Barrett Browning for my card. Happy Valentine's Day!

Assembly Line Boot Camp - Week 1

Club Scrap is hosting Assembly Line Boot Camp. and the first challenge was to use metallics on your card. I used images from Steppin' Out to make an anniversary card. I love the combination of black, white and silver, and luckily I have some metallic silver card stock. I also used some silver brads to complete my card. Entries will have a chance to win prizes, plus for every entry, Club Scrap will make a donation to Operation Write Home, which collects handmade cards and sends them to our service people who are deployed, so that they can send cards home to their families.

After participating in the Operation Write Home Card Bowl last weekend, I wanted to make a few more birthday cards to send along to our heroes. I put a snow day on Wednesday to good use and made several more creations.

Operation Write Home Card Bowl

Operation Write Home, an organization which collects cards to send to our troops overseas so that they can send cards to their loved ones, is sponsoring a Card Bowl in honor of the Super Bowl. The first challenge was to make a card inspired by one of the teams from this year's Superbowl - the Seattle Seahawks or the Denver Broncos. I chose to make this card using the colors from the Broncos-blue and orange.
