CLUB SCRAP JANUARY 2016 SKETCH CHALLENGE

I made this card for Merilyn's sketch challenge using Woven Strands. I spritzed a brayered paper with gold Twinkling H2Os over the WS stencil. I stamped the sentiment with Delicata Golden Glitz ink. I stamped one of the WS stamps into Sculpey and baked it in my trusty toaster oven (for crafting only.)

WATERCOLOR WINDOW FRAME TECHNIQUE

The Club Scrap July technique challenge was Watercolor Window Frame, combining stamping and watercolor pencils and a waterbrush. This techniques lends itself to lots of kinds of cards, and I know I will be coming back to it and using it again. I added sequins which was the Ways to Use It challenge this week on Splitcoast Stampers.

Assembly Line Boot Camp Week 4

I haven't been able to participate in all the Boot Camp challenges, but I did have time this week when the challenge was to use petals or flowers.I love this stamp from the Club Scrap Watercolor Blossoms set. I applied the colors to the stamp using Memento inks, and then spritzed with water before placing the stamp on the paper.

Assembly Line Boot Camp - Week 1

Club Scrap is hosting Assembly Line Boot Camp. and the first challenge was to use metallics on your card. I used images from Steppin' Out to make an anniversary card. I love the combination of black, white and silver, and luckily I have some metallic silver card stock. I also used some silver brads to complete my card. Entries will have a chance to win prizes, plus for every entry, Club Scrap will make a donation to Operation Write Home, which collects handmade cards and sends them to our service people who are deployed, so that they can send cards home to their families.

One Layer Simplicity Challenge 1

The new blog One Layer Simplicity posted a challenge to restock your card stash in January. They suggested picking a type of card (birthday, thank you, sympathy) and creating a card, and then making multiples to have on hand. The cards must be minimalist - one layer. I always need birthday cards, so I set to work using the Watercolor Blossoms stamps that I won from Club Scrap. I tried using Memento inkpads instead of watercolor crayons, and came up with a collection of interesting cards.

Club Scrap Baby Wipe Technique Challenge

Karen and Julie of Club Scrap posted a challenge to use baby wipes and reinkers to make a custom ink pad. They suggested several techniques - using rubber stamps and also applying to cardstock to make an interesting background. I found that the red color was a little overpowering, but I did get a nice purple where the blue and red mixed together.

For this card, I used the baby wipe to streak the colors of the sunset.
